John was born and raised in Connecticut, studying under Teresa Vicario through high school, and then attending DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.  There he studied under Dr. Jay White and Dr. Valentin Lanzrein until graduation.  He is currently a graduate student at Arizona State University under Dr. Jerry Doan.  He has been performing with local opera companies as well as with his universities for the past five years, in repertoire varying from baroque to romantic to modern.
